Frenchman Lenny Tronchon, from the Groupama-FDJ team, won the 10th stage of the Vuelta a España by winning the sprint in Elche de la Sierra. This was the 21-year-old rider's first stage victory in his first participation in a Grand Tour.
Tronchon managed to beat Magnus Cort and Thibau Nys in the sprint finish, demonstrating a great final acceleration to secure the stage victory.
In the general classification, Spaniard Enric Mas maintains the race lead and continues to wear the red leader's jersey of the Vuelta. Mas arrived at the stage with an advantage that allowed him to preserve first place.
The Vuelta a España thus continues with Enric Mas in the lead, while Tronchon celebrates his first victory in a WorldTour Grand Tour.
