Botafogo's board made formal contact with Flamengo to inform that it would open negotiations for forward Everton Cebolinha, 30 years old. The club asked Flamengo for permission to start conversations with the player, who is free to sign a pre-contract with another club.
The player already knows he will not renew the contract expiring in December and is open to hearing offers. Everton Cebolinha was authorized by Flamengo to leave the club for free, without any payment for his economic rights, with only the interested club needing to bear the athlete's salary.
Botafogo's main obstacle to completing the negotiation is Cebolinha's high salary. So far, the forward has not brought any effective proposals to leave Flamengo, and prioritizes continuing his career in international football.
