Nacional chooses Daniel Sousa

Record1 September 2026 at 17:09

Nacional chose Daniel Sousa as the successor to João Gião. The choice was on track after Custódio Castro refused the position.

Daniel Sousa is the new coach of Nacional. The decision was made after the selection process that followed João Gião's departure from the technical command of the team.

Custódio Castro was one of the club's first options, but ended up refusing the proposal. This refusal led the board to look for other alternatives in the coaching market.

The hiring of Daniel Sousa represents the solution found by Nacional to replace the previous coach. The new coach now faces the challenge of leading the team in the next phase of the season.
