Burriana projects to invest 300,000 euros in renovating the Llombai grass

El Periódico Mediterráneo - General1 September 2026 at 17:16

The Burriana City Council plans to invest 300,000 euros in the complete renovation of the grass of the municipal football field Juan Manuel Canós, located in the Llombai Sports Complex. This amount will be divided between a credit modification of 100,000 euros and the 200,000 euros already granted by the Provincial Council through the Extraordinary Plan 'Més Esport'.

The plenary session of the City Council will debate this Thursday the approval of this credit modification of 100,000 euros, which will allow completing the necessary financing for the grass renovation work.

The football field Juan Manuel Canós is a municipal sports infrastructure that requires a complete renovation of its grass, thus justifying the significant investment by the municipality.

With the approval of this measure, Burriana will finally be able to proceed with the complete replacement of the field's grass, improving the conditions of the sports facilities for local users and clubs.

PORTUGAL OF THE AMÉLIAS: HOPE IS SCRATCHED AWAY WHILE POWER SCRATCHES AWAY THE FUTURE

This editorial analyzes Portugal's socioeconomic situation using the metaphor of scratch cards and Euromillions. The article starts from the story of Amélia, a Euromillions winner of 51 million euros who continues to live modestly, to reflect on a society where many citizens see gambling as one of the few chances to improve their lives. The author criticizes the tax burden, housing costs, state bureaucracy and lack of competence in public administration, especially in the country's interior. He argues that Portugal needs political and administrative competence, not luck, and that the country must stop living waiting for miracles and start investing in serious policies that serve citizens, respect public money and create conditions for young people to stay.
