João Lázaro leaves APAV presidency and is appointed Deputy Ombudsman of Justice

João Lázaro, current president of the Portuguese Association for Victim Support (APAV), was appointed Deputy Ombudsman of Justice, according to a dispatch published in the Official Gazette. This appointment marks the end of his term as head of APAV, an organization dedicated to supporting crime victims.

The appointment was formalized through official publication, making public the terms of João Lázaro's transition to the new public office.

The new position of Deputy Ombudsman will be held alongside the Ombudsman, the highest authority of this institution for the defense of citizens' rights.

João Lázaro will assume his new duties on September 7, thus beginning a new phase in his career serving the administration of Justice in Portugal.
