The Local Health Unit (ULS) of Lezíria received the first modular room installed in the Iberian Peninsula for the preparation of cytotoxic medicines used in oncological treatments. The new structure was developed by the company Grifols Engineering and was delivered on Monday.
The investment in this modular room amounted to approximately 600 thousand euros. The structure will be installed next to the facilities of ULS of Lezíria, allowing the improvement of the conditions for preparation of these medicines used in the treatment of oncological patients.
Cytotoxic medicines require special preparation conditions due to their toxicity and the need to guarantee the safety of both health professionals and patients. This modular room represents a significant advance in the infrastructure available in the Lezíria region for the treatment of oncological diseases.
