French footballer Fofana, 27 years old and a midfielder by profession, leaves AC Milan to reinforce Lyon on a season-long loan. The agreement includes a purchase option set at 12 million euros.
Fofana will play under coach Fonseca's command at Lyon. This transfer occurs at a time when AC Milan is now managed by Rúben Amorim.
The player is thus looking for more playing time and an opportunity to relaunch his career after his spell at the Italian club. Lyon, for their part, strengthens their midfield with an experienced player.
