Meta informed the Superior Electoral Court that it took down the profiles of Renan Santos cited in Minister Dias Toffoli's decision, which restricted part of the digital campaign of the presidential candidate. The company made unavailable the Facebook and Instagram accounts indicated by the minister. In total, one profile on Facebook, seven on Instagram, seven on TikTok, and one YouTube channel were removed.
The campaign's official website and Renan Santos's profile on X continue to operate, which were the two channels reported by the candidate to the Electoral Court when registering the candidacy. Toffoli's decision also determines the suspension of electoral propaganda for the ticket of Renan Santos and Aroldo Medina on accounts that were not reported to the TSE within the timeframe provided by law.
For the minister, there are signs of irregularities in the campaign's digital operations. Toffoli mentions a possible "strategic omission" in reporting the accounts to the Electoral Court. The decision aims to curb the irregular use of undeclared profiles during the electoral period.
