The University of Minho will promote the Research & Innovation Open Days from September 22 to 24, an event that aims to bring together researchers, students, companies, investors, and decision-makers to discuss the main scientific and technological challenges of today, while simultaneously presenting projects and solutions developed at the Minho academy with impact on the economy and society.
One of the main highlights will be the Technology Showcase, which will present more than 50 prototypes and solutions developed in the university's ecosystem, covering areas such as electric mobility, health, artificial intelligence, energy, sustainability, bioeconomy, energy storage, and space exploration. The program will also include conferences and debates dedicated to fundamental research, scientific careers, academic entrepreneurship, knowledge valorization, and intellectual property.
Projects developed under the 25 Mobilizing Agendas in which the University of Minho participates will also be highlighted, initiatives that enabled the capture of approximately 50 million euros in funding. The 2026 edition will also include business visits organized through three thematic routes, promoting direct contact between academia and the business sector.
The full program will be presented on September 2, at 3:00 PM, at a press conference at the School of Medicine of the University of Minho, with the participation of António Salgado, Vice-Rector for Research and Science Policy, Raúl Fangueiro, Pro-Rector for Innovation, Entrepreneurship, and Knowledge Transfer, Carlos Videira, Pro-Rector for University Participation and Connection to the Territory, and Luís Rodrigues, Executive Director of InvestBraga.
