Old military personnel will have a meeting at Rochão

The 101st Monthly Meeting of the Madeiran Military Personnel who Served in the Overseas Territories will take place on Sunday, September 6, at the church of Rochão, in the parish of Camacha. This monthly meeting brings together former military personnel born or residing in Madeira who served in the former Portuguese Colonies.

The event program includes, at 11:00 AM, the celebration of a mass in memory of the former combatants. Then, at 11:45 AM, there is a tribute to the deceased Madeiran military personnel, with a blessing and the delivery of a flower wreath as a form of homage.

This tribute is specifically dedicated to the Madeiran military personnel who died during service in the overseas territories, recognizing the sacrifice made by these men from Madeira during the Portuguese colonial period.
