Three people, aged between 17 and 56, were detained by the PSP for possession of prohibited weapons during an inspection operation carried out at the railway stations of Queluz-Belas and Santa Cruz-Damaia, on the Sintra Line. The detentions were carried out by the Public Transport Security Division of the PSP, within the scope of a Special Criminal Prevention Operation, with the suspects caught in flagrante delicto.
One of the detentions involved a 17-year-old youth, intercepted in possession of a kitchen knife with a 20-centimeter blade and a military-pattern balaclava, which he was carrying inside a backpack, without presenting any valid justification. In another incident, a 19-year-old man was detained after officers found a kitchen knife with a 12.5-centimeter blade in his clothing pocket.
The third detention involved a 56-year-old woman, who exhibited behavior considered suspicious in the presence of police. During a security search, a 9 mm caliber round, belonging to Class A and of prohibited use, was found in her wallet.
The three detainees were constituted as defendants and notified to appear before the competent Judicial Authority, at the Courts of Amadora and Sintra. The weapons, the ammunition, and the remaining seized objects were sent to the PSP's Weapons and Explosives Unit.
