100 years of Venezuelan oil exploration to US private interests

dnoticias.pt1 September 2026 at 15:30

The United States confirmed the granting, for a period of 100 years, of part of Venezuela's oil reserves to the private company North American Blue Energy Partners (NABEP). This agreement represents one of the largest transfers of Venezuelan natural resources to private US interests in recent history.

The US Department of Defense will take 35% of NABEP's parent company, thus guaranteeing strong US military participation in the control of this oil operation. This link between the private company and the military department raises questions about the strategic interests behind the agreement.

The agreement was reached between the US administration led by Donald Trump and Venezuela's interim President, Delcy Rodríguez. This partnership represents a significant rapprochement between the two countries after years of diplomatic tension and sanctions imposed by the US on the Venezuelan government.

According to what was established, NABEP may explore for a century 17 oil fields with approximately 65 billion (unit cut off in the article). This century-long contract grants the American company extraction rights over a vast area of Venezuelan oil territory.

Jair Renan Asks for Votes for Esperidião Amin and Carlos Bolsonaro, but Leaves Michelle's Ally in SC Out of the Campaign Flyer

The campaign material attributed to Jair Renan Bolsonaro (PL-SC) asks for votes for Carlos Bolsonaro and Esperidião Amin for Senate, but excludes federal deputy Caroline de Toni, Michelle Bolsonaro's ally on the same ticket. The flyer also supports Jair Renan for federal deputy, Flavinho for president, Jorginho Mello for governor, and Camilo Martins for state deputy. Toni's exclusion occurs amid tensions in the Bolsonaro coalition in Santa Catarina, as Amin was passed over by Jorginho earlier this year to accommodate the ex-president's son.
