An overhead electrical network failure affected the circulation of Line 12-Safira of the Companhia Paulista de Trens Metropolitanos (CPTM) on Tuesday morning (1). Passengers needed to walk along the tracks and proceed on foot through the passage. According to CPTM, the problem occurred in the section between Calmon Viana and Itaim Paulista stations, in the eastern zone of São Paulo, at 6:53 AM. The failure was caused by a short circuit.
So that the maintenance teams could work on solving the problem, the circulation of Line 12-Safira started to happen on a single track in the section between Calmon Viana and Itaim Paulista stations. According to CPTM, the repair could increase the interval between trains. Passengers were transferred from a train between Jardim Romano and Itaim Paulista stations.
