André Ramos and Ana Correia finished the Boccia World Championship, held in Seoul, South Korea, with places in the top ten of their respective classes. The two athletes from Sporting Clube de Espinho stood out throughout the competition, both securing first place in their respective groups in the initial phase.
André Ramos reached a final eighth-place finish, after winning the group stage and the round of 16, securing a place among the top eight of the competition. His run ended in the quarter-finals, a result that allowed him to once again reach the later stages of an international competition representing the National Team.
Ana Correia secured two victories in the group stage, finishing in first place in her group and earning qualification for the round of 16. However, she was unable to advance past the first elimination round, finishing in ninth place among the 24 participants in her event.
Both athletes leave South Korea with top-10 world rankings, in a performance that was accompanied by coach André Tavares, from SC Espinho and the National Team.
