Jornal de Negócios1 September 2026 at 14:33

The housing tax package costs 303 million euros. This measure includes the reduction of VAT in construction and the application of a 10% rate on IRS for affordable rent.

The financial impact of this measure is reflected in the State Budget for 2027. This is a set of fiscal policies designed to support the housing sector in Portugal.

The reduction of VAT in construction aims to boost the real estate market and facilitate access to home ownership. In turn, the reduced IRS rate for affordable rent aims to encourage property owners to make properties available for rent at more accessible prices.
