The Public Security Police (PSP) identified 182 elderly people in vulnerable situations during an operation that took place over just over a month. The authorities detected these situations through proximity actions and inspections with the elderly population.
The identified cases reveal stories of loneliness and social isolation among the elderly. The PSP intervened with these people to provide support and referral to appropriate social services.
This operation is part of the PSP's regular work in monitoring vulnerable groups, particularly during periods when elderly isolation may worsen, such as during the COVID-19 pandemic or during times of intense cold.
