The Superior Electoral Court, by decision of Minister Dias Toffoli, suspended the digital campaign of Renan Santos, a candidate for President for the Missão party. The measure restricted the digital propaganda of the ticket.
The main reason for the decision was the delay in reporting 16 profiles to the Electoral Justice. The legislation requires that candidates inform the Justice of all profiles used for political propaganda on social media.
Dias Toffoli, rapporteur of the case at the TSE, made the decision based on non-compliance with electoral rules regarding transparency and accountability on digital platforms.
The suspension directly affects the ability of Renan Santos' campaign to carry out propaganda in the digital environment, limiting one of the main channels of reach for candidates in current elections.
