Suspect of being CV's 'war man' in Rio Grande do Norte arrested on Copacabana waterfront

oglobo1 September 2026 at 13:42

A man suspected of being part of the Comando Vermelho's branch in Rio Grande do Norte was arrested on Monday by civil police officers from the Intelligence Sub-secretariat on the Copacabana waterfront in Rio de Janeiro. He had a temporary arrest warrant, and investigations indicate he worked directly on the CV's territorial expansion actions, invading areas controlled by rival factions, which earned him the nickname "war man." The suspect was hiding in the Pavão-Pavãozinho and Cantagalo communities between Copacabana and Ipanema.
