The National Federation of Teachers (Fenprof) reported that there are still 2,650 schedules on offer in schools that remain unfilled, corresponding to more than 50,000 hours, just days before the start of the school year.
The information was conveyed at a press conference held in Lisbon, where José Feliciano Costa, one of the general secretaries of Fenprof, presented the data relating to this situation.
According to the official, the data indicates that if the school year started now, thousands of students would not have teachers assigned. Of the schedules yet to be filled, 2,152 are complete annual schedules.
