Fenprof warned that if the school year started now, thousands of students would be left without teachers. The warning comes just days before the start of classes in Portugal.

According to the union, there are 2,650 positions to be filled, representing more than 50 thousand missing teaching hours. All these positions are full-time and for the entire academic year.

Fenprof emphasized the gravity of the situation and the urgent need to resolve this crisis in the education sector before the start of the school year.
