Ministry of Education owes 38 million to polytechnics

ZAP Notícias1 September 2026 at 12:30

Public polytechnic institutes face approximately 38 million euros in additional charges arising from legislative changes related to the public administration performance evaluation system and teaching careers. So far, they have not received any financial compensation from the Ministry of Education, Science and Innovation.

The warning was issued by the president of the Coordinating Council of Polytechnic Higher Education Institutions, Luís Loures, who considers that the situation is undermining the sustainability, financial stability and competitiveness of the institutions.

Luís Loures revealed that CCISP presented to the minister in March a document detailing the financial impact of these legislative obligations on public polytechnic institutions. The document has yet to receive any response or compensation from the MECI.

The polytechnics thus face significant financial difficulties due to costs imposed by external legislation, without the responsible ministry having ensured the necessary funding to meet these mandatory expenses.

Jair Renan Asks for Votes for Esperidião Amin and Carlos Bolsonaro, but Leaves Michelle's Ally in SC Out of the Campaign Flyer

The campaign material attributed to Jair Renan Bolsonaro (PL-SC) asks for votes for Carlos Bolsonaro and Esperidião Amin for Senate, but excludes federal deputy Caroline de Toni, Michelle Bolsonaro's ally on the same ticket. The flyer also supports Jair Renan for federal deputy, Flavinho for president, Jorginho Mello for governor, and Camilo Martins for state deputy. Toni's exclusion occurs amid tensions in the Bolsonaro coalition in Santa Catarina, as Amin was passed over by Jorginho earlier this year to accommodate the ex-president's son.
