And if you could go back to Porto from 30 years ago? ViaCatarina prepares a journey through memory

SAPO Notícias1 September 2026 at 12:02

ViaCatarina Shopping, located in Porto, is preparing to celebrate three decades of activity through a journey through the city's memory. The celebration will take place throughout September and promises to be an exercise in collective memory, establishing a connection between the shopping centre and Porto's past.

The exhibition features various elements that reflect the history and identity of the city. Among the selected materials are postcards, caricatures, newspapers, tiles and photographs, which will be used to reconstruct and represent different moments of life in Porto over the last three decades.

The initiative aims not only to mark the 30th anniversary of the commercial space, but also to reinforce its role as an integral part of the Porto community. Throughout a month, visitors and residents will have the opportunity to revisit local history through this exhibition that crosses personal and collective memory.
