Fado returns to the Old Lota of Portimão next Saturday, September 5th, with a program that combines the exhibition "What is Fado…" and a new edition of the "There is Fado at the Lota" cycle, running until October 16th. The initiative kicks off at 19:00 with the unveiling of the exhibition, accompanied by a musical moment with fadistas Rita Raimundo and Inês Marques, Vítor do Carmo on Portuguese guitar and António Correia on viola de fado.

The exhibition "What is Fado…", curated by Pedro Félix, who was part of the team responsible for Fado's UNESCO candidacy, was developed in partnership with the Museu do Fado and marks the 15 years of this cultural expression's inscription on the Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity. The exhibition proposes a journey through the history, sounds and protagonists of the genre, with special attention to the memories and performers connected to Fado in Portimão. It also features the collaboration of José Paulo Costa, from STAP, who lent guitars from his collection.

The exhibition has free admission and will be on display until October 16th, available for viewing daily from 17:00 to 23:00 between September 5th and 15th, and from 10:00 to 12:00 and from 14:00 to 17:00 from September 16th to October 16th. The new edition of "There is Fado at the Lota" runs from September 5th to October 10th, every Saturday at 21:00, with free admission, bringing together performers from various generations of musicians connected to the Fado universe.

The first night, on September 5th, features Rafael Pacheco and Guests, a native of Portimão linked to the new generation of Portuguese guitar. The cycle continues on the following Saturdays with names such as Custódio Castelo, Ana Paula Martins, Teresa Viola, Pedro Viola, Ana Marques, João Leote, Adriana Marques, Hélder Coelho, Luana Velasques and Cecílio Santos, among others. According to the Municipality of Portimão, the program aims to reaffirm the Old Lota as a place for celebrating Fado in the city.

Shaquille O'Neal, former NBA star and four-time league champion, surprised his fans by posting a video showing his left foot wearing woven leather sandals, in a campaign to make this type of footwear popular among men again. The American made controversial comments saying that "women need to break up with men who don't have a pair of these." However, what caught the most attention from followers was his angular big toe, painted with bright red nail polish, with many commenting humorously about the curve of the toe and others making warnings about the appearance of fungus on the nail, asking him to treat the problem before painting it.
