The Municipality of Anadia awarded a rehabilitation project for the High Performance Center of Anadia, located in Sangalhos, for a value of almost 1.048 million euros, plus VAT, with an execution period of 12 months. The intervention includes the repair of the nave and accommodation unit roofs, the improvement of logistical support areas such as garage, workshop and warehouse, the correction and painting of the velodrome floor, as well as the waterproofing and painting of exterior and interior walls.
The CAR of Anadia was inaugurated in 2009 and plays a fundamental role in the training and development of high-performance athletes, hosting the Cycling, Gymnastics, Judo and Fencing federations. Over the years, the center has welcomed major names in national and international sports, contributing to the preparation of athletes for important competitions.
In 2019, the CAR of Anadia reinforced its international importance by receiving from the International Cycling Union (UCI) the status of Continental Cycling Center, becoming the first Satellite Center of the World Cycling Center in Europe.
