The Nazaré Local Accommodation Regulation was submitted for voting for the second time after being deemed null in a first vote. This new vote was necessary to correct the formal issues that led to the annulment of the previous document.
The mayor and four councilors were prohibited from participating in the vote. Two of these councilors belong to PSD and two to PS, the two main political parties represented in the municipal executive.
The voting prohibition was due to the fact that these executive members were "in a situation susceptible to configuring a conflict of interests," meaning there are relationships between these politicians and the local accommodation sector that could influence their decision.
