PSD publicly expressed its position that "defending the Fachos is defending our identity," considering that the ten Fachos that annually mark this tradition are much more than fireballs, being described as living symbols of the history, courage and identity of a people.
Councilors, municipal and parish deputies, as well as Social Democratic party members, closely followed the preparation and exhibition sites of the traditional Fachos, demonstrating the party's support for this tradition.
The participation of these political representatives simultaneously constituted a moment of socializing among party members and a way of recognizing the voluntary work carried out by those who keep this tradition alive.
