The Chega party criticized Luís Neves's visit to Madeira through a statement signed by Deputy Francisco Gomes, who is elected by the party. Gomes considered that the official should have this visit as his "last official act as Minister".
Luís Neves traveled to the Autonomous Region of Madeira to participate in the celebrations of the Day of the Regional Command of the PSP, the Public Security Police.
Francisco Gomes made harsh criticisms throughout the statement, expressing Chega's position against the Minister's visit to the island.
