The Municipal Group of Compromís denounced that the new school year in Castelló begins again with the single district system imposed by the government of the Popular Party and Vox, despite the express rejection by a large part of the educational community. This situation represents, according to the formation, a continuation of a policy that does not have the support of sector professionals.
The deputy spokesperson of the Valencianist coalition, Pau Sancho, harshly criticized the decision, considering that the municipal executive maintains it "ignoring the request from management teams, educational unions and even the Municipal School Council". These entities had requested the return to the previous system of different districts in the city.
The single district system allows, according to Compromís's complaint, a favoring of private education to the detriment of public education. The coalition maintains that this measure harms families and the public educational system in Castelló.
Sancho reiterated that the local government's position goes against the majority sentiment of the educational community, which defends a model that guarantees a better distribution of students and greater support for public schools in the city.
