The head of European Union diplomacy, Kaja Kallas, called on member countries to send to Ukraine their near-expiring interceptor missiles. The appeal was made upon entering the informal meeting of EU defense ministers.
Kaja Kallas recalled that July and August were the deadliest months against Ukrainian civilians since the start of the war. This appeal comes in the context of a significant increase in violence against the civilian population in Ukraine.
