The accounts of presidential candidate Renan Santos (Missão) on YouTube and Instagram were taken down after the minister of the Superior Electoral Court (TSE), Dias Toffoli, suspended the presidential candidate's campaign on Monday. The magistrate blocked the activist's participation in electoral debates and vetoed the use of electoral fund resources. The precautionary measure also extended to electoral propaganda on the web.
On Instagram, when accessing the candidate's profile, users encountered the message "Account not available in Brazil." The social network justified that the access was cut because it is "complying with a judicial order from the TSE to restrict this content." On YouTube, a red message in English states that Renan's channel "is not available," without detailing the reasons for this.
