Tiago Margarido: "The most fair result would be the draw"

Tiago Margarido, coach of Vitória, analyzed the defeat against Sp. Braga, pointing out that the game was decided on details and that the draw would be the most fair result. According to the coach, the team started the match better, but Sp. Braga balanced things out and ended up on top at halftime. In the second half, Vitória adjusted their posture, became more ambitious and managed to limit the opponent's build-up play, but ended up being punished in one of the few occasions when the Bracarenses got close to goal.

The coach underlined that, at the level required by the fans, the team has already reached the desired standards, but has not yet achieved the corresponding results. Margarido rejected any negative impact of this defeat on the team's trajectory and showed confidence in a positive response in the next game against Casa Pia, assuring that the defeat in no way undermines the path laid out.

Margarido also acknowledged that Vitória was below their usual level in the final third of the pitch, pointing out difficulties in the link-up with the striker and in creating goal-scoring opportunities. The coach admitted that there was a lack of arrivals in the box and that the team was not competent in their ability to produce chances, something that goes against their usual performance. However, he defended that the team is in a process of evolution and creating collective memories, expecting to give different responses in future games with similar characteristics.
