PSP flags 284 elderly and detects 182 in situations of social risk

Sábado1 September 2026 at 09:22

PSP flagged 284 elderly people as part of an interim assessment, having detected 182 elderly people in situations of social risk. The operation focuses on identifying and monitoring vulnerable elderly people.

The most predominant risk factor was lack of autonomy, which led to the flagging of 77 elderly people. This was the most common reason identified by PSP officers.

Other identified risk factors include suspected victimization due to the repeated practice of crimes, which led to the flagging of 59 elderly people, and the absence of a contact network, which involved 48 elderly people.

The interim assessment allows PSP to map the main vulnerabilities of the elderly population and direct efforts toward the most critical situations of social risk.
