Revolut announced on Tuesday that it will expand its artificial intelligence assistant AIR (AI by Revolut) across Europe, including Portugal, through its application. The solution arrives in the Portuguese market approximately five months after being launched in the United Kingdom. The company promises an intelligent chatbot capable of transforming the way customers interact with their money, manage their lifestyle, and make day-to-day consumption decisions.
Users can, for example, describe their dream vacation and let AIR suggest recommendations, find accommodations, and discover local experiences tailored to their budget. The assistant will also be able to answer questions about shopping expenses, such as supermarket spending during a specific period, or about stock performance. It will also be capable of providing responses about Revolut's loyalty program.
The rollout will be phased, beginning this Tuesday, and will not be immediately available to all 2.3 million customers in Portugal. Customers can start chatting with AIR by simply swiping down in the middle of the screen, or by going to Profile, Chats, and AIR.
The announcement comes days after Revolut announced the creation of Revolut Research, a unit specialized in developing machine learning models to improve credit risk assessment and fraud prevention. This unit is responsible for PRAGMA, Revolut's proprietary AI model developed in partnership with Nvidia, although the company has not explained whether this is the model powering the new chatbot.
