Portugal passed today to officially recognize the status of stateless persons, people who are not considered nationals of any State and who, consequently, do not have a nationality.
The competence to conduct these recognition processes was assigned to the Agency for Integration, Migration and Asylum (AIMA), the entity responsible for managing affairs related to migration and asylum in the country.
The article indicates that criteria will be defined to identify who can request this status and what rights are foreseen for people who obtain this official recognition.
