The British designer John Galliano cancelled an exhibition that would be held at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, in New York. The decision came after criticism from donors and political leaders due to anti-Semitic comments made by him in the past.

At 65 years old, Galliano, who was the artistic director of Christian Dior, announced the cancellation through a post on Instagram. He stated that, after much reflection and conversations with those involved, he decided with great sadness that the exhibition would not take place at this time.

The designer also once again acknowledged the damage caused by his previous statements. He stated that he is fully aware of the pain caused by his words in the past, in particular the harm he caused to the Jewish and Asian communities.
