The controversial decision by Supreme Electoral Court (TSE) minister Dias Toffoli restricted the electoral campaign of presidential candidate Renan Santos, from the Missão party. The measure prohibited him from participating in debates and accessing Electoral Fund resources.
The decision was harshly criticized by five election law experts consulted confidentially by the blog. The experts classified Toffoli's order as "very exaggerated," "legally absurd," "nonsensical," and "teratological."
