Former French prime minister Édouard Balladur died this Monday at the age of 97. Balladur governed France between 1993 and 1995, during a period marked by economic difficulties and social tensions in the country.
In addition to prime minister, Balladur also held the position of minister of State and Economy between 1986 and 1988, demonstrating a long trajectory in French public service. The politician dedicated more than half of his life to politics.
