PL presidential candidate, Jair Bolsonaro's son, will interrupt his campaign schedules this Tuesday to stay in Brasília and follow the lobbying efforts in Congress regarding the proposal to end the 6x1 work schedule. The senator is opposed to the change advocated by President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT) and intends to participate in building a legislative alternative, as well as provide a counterpoint to one of the main platforms of the opposing candidate in the final stretch of the campaign.
The decision comes during Congress's concentrated effort and at a time when the government is trying to accelerate a package of measures it intends to exploit electorally. Besides the PEC (constitutional amendment proposal) on the 6x1 schedule, the Senate is expected to analyze on Tuesday the provisional measure that ended the so-called "tiny shirt tax."
The MP (provisional measure) is also part of the agreement closed by Lula with the presidents of the Chamber, Hugo Motta (Republicanos-PB), and of the Senate, Davi Alcolumbre (União-AP), to advance priority agendas before the elections. The government's goal is to approve these measures before the electoral period to obtain political gains with the electorate.
