The rapporteur of the constitutional amendment bill that ends the 6x1 work schedule, Senator Omar Aziz (PSD-AM), will hold on Tuesday a series of hearings with representatives from the productive sector and labor unions before the vote in the Senate's Constitution and Justice Committee (CCJ). The congressman estimated that each meeting lasts about 20 minutes to accommodate all interested parties.
Among the groups that will be working the halls of the National Congress are representatives from CNC, CNT, port terminals, Fecomércio-SP, airline companies and labor unions, as well as magistrates. The main objective of the meetings is to influence the rapporteur's position on the proposal.
Omar Aziz ruled out changes to the text of the constitutional amendment bill and stated that he is working to have the vote take place in the committee next week. The federal government, through Minister Guilherme Boulos of the General Secretariat of the Presidency, expressed support for the proposal, which is an electoral promise of President Lula, expecting its approval before the next elections.
