Chega announced this Monday that it would reveal during the day whether it would proceed with a motion of censure against the Government. The decision was made after a meeting of the party's national and parliamentary bodies.
André Ventura, leader of Chega, met with the party's structures to debate the final position on the executive. The far-right party has been one of the main critics of the current Government.
The Chega leader also revealed that he had requested a telephone conversation with the President of the Republic, at a time of political tension between the party and the executive.
The eventual presentation of a motion of censure would represent an escalation of political instability, at a time when the PS minority Government has faced challenges in passing measures in parliament.
