Portugal experienced a day of sporting triumphs in Taranto, with the women's football team achieving the championship title. This victory joined several outstanding results in athletics, consolidating the great moment for Portuguese sport in this competition.
In the shot put, Auriol Dongmo won the gold medal, while Inchude took silver in the same event, thus guaranteeing a Portuguese double on the podium of this discipline.
The women's 4x100 meters relay also contributed to the Portuguese success by securing gold. In the 10,000 meters, Mariana Machado took silver, adding another medal to Portugal's tally.
With these five additional medals, Portugal now has 26 medals in total, setting a new historic maximum for a single edition of this competition.
