The General Government of East Jerusalem denounced that Israel will impose its educational program on Palestinian schools in this area of the city starting this school year.
The measure applies to Palestinian schools located in East Jerusalem, territory occupied by the Israeli Army in 1967 and later annexed in 1980.
The imposition of the Israeli curriculum represents a significant change in the Palestinian educational system in East Jerusalem, replacing the curriculum traditionally used by schools in the area.
This decision was denounced by the General Government of East Jerusalem, which expressed opposition to the replacement of the Palestinian curriculum by the Israeli one in schools in the region.
