The government of Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva confirmed that the minimum wage planned for 2027 is R$ 1,741, according to the budget guidelines bill (PLOA) released by the Ministry of Planning. This value represents an increase of R$ 120 in relation to the national floor of 2024, of R$ 1,621, or a nominal increase of 7.4%.
The minimum wage included in the PLOA considers the estimate for the National Consumer Price Index (INPC) for 12 months accumulated through November 2026, plus the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) variation from two years prior, limited to real gains of 2.5%, following the rule established in 2024.
The value that will actually be practiced in 2027 depends on the effective result of the INPC accumulated over 12 months through November, which will only be known in December of this year. Until then, the value may undergo adjustments.
In addition to workers who receive a minimum wage by contract, the floor serves as a reference for retirees, pensioners, and beneficiaries of social programs.
