Donald Trump defended that resistance to the construction of data centers in the United States benefits China, suggesting that these restrictions represent a strategic disadvantage for the country.

The United States currently has approximately 4,000 data centers in operation, which demonstrates the already existing dimension of this infrastructure in American territory.

At least 75 data center projects that were in the planning phase were affected by local restrictions during the first quarter of 2026, indicating a significant obstacle to the development of this industry in the USA.
