The IC8 was closed to traffic on Monday night due to a collision between a truck and two cars. The alert for the accident was given at 21:47.

The Guarda Nacional Republicana confirmed the road closure at kilometer 59.800, on the section that crosses Santiago da Guarda.

The rescue operations were still ongoing at the time the information was known, and it was not yet possible to determine the number of victims involved in the accident.
