Mário Bittencourt, former president and current general director of Fluminense, talked about Marcão's appointment as the team's coach for the fourth time. In an interview with the Pelada Musical podcast, the director revealed that there has been an agreement since his arrival in management, maintained by current president Mattheus Montenegro, for the former midfielder to maintain a contract as a permanent assistant until the end of the term.
According to Mário Bittencourt, Marcão will continue taking charge of the team in moments when there is a need to change coaches, functioning as an internal alternative that can achieve the same objectives that a new external commander would bring. The director clarified that if Marcão becomes the permanent coach of the professional team, this was not part of the original agreement.
The former president of the club made a point of praising Marcão's work on the sidelines and believes the coach will follow his own path in the future, suggesting that his stay at Fluminense may not be definitive in the professional's career.
