Portugal were crowned today champions of the women's football tournament at the Mediterranean Games, after thrashing Italy 4-0 in the final.
The Portuguese national team was made up of under-18 athletes, representing a young side that managed to secure the top prize in this sporting competition.
With this victory, Portugal reached their 11th gold medal at the Taranto 2026 Mediterranean Games, significantly boosting their medal tally at this year's edition.
