The 19-year-old striker Joaquín Freitas arrived in Rio de Janeiro to complete his transfer from River Plate of Argentina to Flamengo. The Brazilian club expects to finalize the operation by Tuesday and announce the player. The medical exams are scheduled for the same day.
The negotiation between the clubs involves different values because Flamengo closed the purchase including bonuses considered almost impossible to achieve. If these bonuses are met over the five-year contract, the total value of the operation could reach 17 million dollars, almost R$90 million, as cited by the Argentine press.
However, Flamengo's actual expenditure, as indicated to the blog, is the value without the bonuses: 8 million euros, about R$40 million, to be paid over three years. This divergence between the values made the clubs take longer to finalize the operation.
