A Danish cartel used a funeral van to remove drugs from Portimão Marina, in Portugal. The vehicle was seized by authorities as part of an investigation into international drug trafficking.
The operation involved authorities from different countries in combating the smuggling of illicit substances through maritime routes. The Portimão port was used as the entry point for the drugs into Portuguese territory.
Authorities believe that the use of a funeral van aimed to make the identification and detection of the illegal cargo more difficult, taking advantage of the common appearance of this type of vehicle to go unnoticed.
