Days after Russian attack in Bucha, there are still explosives scattered and detonations continue to be heard

SIC Notícias31 August 2026 at 21:16

The number of dead in the village of Myla, in the Bucha district, in Ukraine, rose to 38 following the explosions that occurred after a Russian attack. A Russian drone hit an ammunition warehouse that was installed next to a residential area, causing great destruction in the area.

An investigation was opened to determine the circumstances under which the ammunition depot was operating at that location, near homes. The authorities want to understand if there was negligence in the location of the warehouse or if there were failures in the security procedures.

The SIC team went to the affected area, where they found that, days after the attack, there are still explosives scattered across the terrain. Detonations continue to be heard in the area, which keeps the population at risk and hinders rescue and cleanup work.
